THE MID SUFFOLK FOOTPATH

The Mid Suffolk Footpath is over 20 miles in length and is Mid Suffolk District Council's first long distance route. It links Hoxne in the north with Stowmarket in the south.  The walk has been divided into five easy stages, passing through Eye, Thorndon, Mendlesham and Stowupland.

THORNHAM WALKS

Just 2 miles from Thorndon is the Thornham Estate of 2000 acres, formerly owned by the Henniker Family, but now by Suffolk County Council. It provides beautiful walks through well managed woodland. For more information  Thornham Walks

HORSERIDING

Quiet roads and bridleways make for pleasant hacking. Local stables Eye Equestrian Centre

CYCLING

The countryside around Thorndon is gently undulating making cycling easy going. The roads are also quiet - you can cycle for an hour and only encounter the odd car - making ithem safe for all the family to enjoy.
In the Cycling Around Eye book, suggested routes include passing points of interest. It should be pointed out that as the book was published in 1998, certain information contained therein, may well now be out of date.
