Thorndon Community Shop reached its 1st birthday on 4th August, which was celebrated at the Village Hall on the evening of the 6th. Over 40 volunteers attended and were pleased to hear that the shop was doing well and was operating within the business plan. Much needed new fridges had recently been installed with the help of a grant from Mid Suffolk District Council and over 500 regularly stocked items.

A birthday wouldn't complete without a cake and this beautifully decorated one was cut by Pam Youles

No detail was overlooked, even the dog's water bowl, which had been spilt, was included!
And what was even better, it tasted jolly good as well!
