The 2015 Flower Festival held in All Saints Church was an incredible success, making £2863 over the three days of the Whitsun Bank Holiday. The theme was Fairy Stories and there were eighteen displays starting from the Lych Gate. Organised by Brenda Stanley, the event was in aid of the Church which is, as ever, in dire need of some repairs. It is also hoped that in the not too distant future, the ancient 'warehouse' type lighting, lit by now illegal tungsten bulbs, will also be replaced, as the stock of bulbs is getting perilously low!
People came from far & near and there was a steady stream all weekend, which kept the T Plus team busy with teas, coffees and plenty of homemade cakes. The Plant Stall, annually run by Henrietta & Kim, proved to be very popular, quite right too, as they'd worked hard at producing an incredible amount of plants at very competitive prices. A more recent venture has been the Book Stall, which is available every Tuesday at T Plus, and any other time the church is open. People were generous with their donations (some very nice top end cookery books!) and purchasers went away with bulging carrier bags. In all likelihood they'll eventually be returned in a 'recycling' manner! Sue Edwards, The Raffle Queen obviously loves a challenge and once again produced a large number of quality prizes - you won't see a dusty bottle of shampoo in her raffle!
